12:10 challenge
Romans 12:10 - Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.
What would happen if all Christians really lived that way? It would be a light in a world of darkness, a beacon saying "I live for something more than myself". Over the month of March 2012, I challenge you to live that way. Try to honor others above yourself in everything that you do.
There is more to the challenge. Every day, make it a point to go out of your way to give someone a blessing. Hold the door open for a stranger. Call a friend who is going through tough times. Pray for someone who is not normally on your prayer list. Buy your mom flowers. Make your sibling a card to show your love.
If we got 10 people in on this, over 31 days of March we would have shown God's love 310 times. 50 people - 1550 times. 100 people - 3100 times.
If you use Facebook, you can take the challenge by liking our page: 12:10 Challenge. If you don't use Facebook, you can still join in! Please let me know if you are doing it. Feel free to invite as many people as you want to join in!
God bless :)

Q & A with Molly: The Water Buffalo Song (the first silly song ever)
Dedicated to my dear friend, Julianne, who is as much of a VeggieTales lover as myself, if not more :) Actually, I'm not sure if it was Julianne who suggested this idea, as the reader did not leave a name, but based on the idea I assume it was her. When I read it I immediately thought of her. If it was someone else please correct me. I guess it could have also been Allison...
here we go!!!
Q: Can you please quote a part of this song for those unfamiliar with the best TV show out there, aka VeggieTales?
A: The Water Buffalo song
Everybody's got a water buffalo
Yours is fast but mine is slow
Oh, where do you get them I don't know
But everyone's got a water buffaloooooo.................
I took my buffalo to the store
Got his head stuck in the door
Spilled some lima beans on the floor
Oh everybody's got a...
Q: Stop it! Stop! Stop right this instant!
A: Exactly what Archibald Asparagus said at that point in the song.
Q: I just didn't want you to go on and on and on and on as I know you can be prone to do when singing Silly Songs. Can people listen to it for themselves?
A: Yes. On Youtube: http://youtu.be/ltG37Bbx1qk
Q: What else does Archibald say?
A: I thought you didn't want me to quote any more of the song...
Q: Well.... we already got started.... and people might be curious.....
A: Admit it. You love Silly Songs.
Q: Being that I am you, and you love Silly Songs, wouldn't that be true?
A: Great!
Archibald continues:
What do you think you are doing?
You can't say everybody's got a water buffalo
When everyone does not have a water buffalo!
We're going to get nasty letters saying
"where's my water buffalo? Why don't i have a water buffalo?"
And are you prepared to deal with that? I don't think so!
Just stop being so silly!
Q: What do you think of Archibald's statement?
A: While he does have a just cause to say these discouraging things, he needs to consider that people watching it are aware that this is a Silly Song and not meant to be taken seriously. He has no right to tell Larry to stop being so silly, as this is Larry's job at that part of the film.
Q: Does Larry stop being so silly?
A: To the relief of the viewers, Larry is not easily discouraged. Not only does he continue singing, he becomes sillier, singing:
Everybody's got a baby kangaroo
Your's is pink but mine is blue.
Hers was small but...
Q: How does Archibald react?
A: Not well. He takes matters into his own hands, and resorting to violent methods, runs in screaming and tackles Larry.
Q: Does this discourage Larry?
A: Though he is finished for that episode, he goes on to make over 25 more silly songs.
Q: What do we learn about Larry because of this?
A: We learn that he perseveres through the hard times. Even when people discourage you, continue doing what you love.
Q: How can we apply this to our own lives?
A: We need to persevere also. When we are doing what we love (be it dancing, playing, working, or singing about nonsense) we need to keep on keeping on no matter how many asparagi with monocles come to tell us to stop.
Q: Anything else we should learn?
A: That the plural of asparagus is Asparaguses, not Asparagi. But Asparagi sounds cooler :)

A Psalm that I wrote
Oh Lord, your name is great
Your name is to be praised
We praise you forever.
Sometimes it hurts
And we wish life wasn't so
But your promise endures
Your truth prevails
And though the storms come
And the rains fall
Though the rocks shake
And the clouds pour out their anger
We will stand firm
And we will praise your great name
Forever.
And ever.
Oh Lord, your name is great.
Your name is to be praised
We praise you forever.
Sometimes it hurts
And we wish life wasn't so
But your promise endures
Your truth prevails
And though the storms come
And the rains fall
Though the rocks shake
And the clouds pour out their anger
We will stand firm
And we will praise your great name
Forever.
And ever.
Oh Lord, your name is great.

"Sometimes your head just hurts.
And you wish it didn't hurt.
But it does."
And you wish it didn't hurt.
But it does."
Revival
Do y'all like the new colors and styles I've added to A Penny For My Thoughts? I have decided to get back to blogging - for the following reasons:
-Facebook is switching everyone to timeline, which I don't really like
-I was reading my past blog posts and cracking up...
-All my great readers miss me! (I hope :)
Luv ya all,
Molly

Let's do some more questions and answers :)
Topic: unknown at the time
Q: How are we going to figure out the topic?
A: I'm not sure. We will have to summarize what we have talked about at the end. So far the topic is: FIGURING OUT A QUESTION WORTHY TOPIC
Q: What are we going to talk about?
A: Well, I pulled up Yahoo.com and the news story was about a football player. Being that the Super Bowl is coming up, don't you think it seems reasonable to talk about football?
Q: What about our readers who don't like or don't understand football?
A: Here is a brief explanation for them:
-there is a brown ball
-one team gets 4 tries to bring the ball 10 yards
-if they do, they have 4 yards to get it another 10 yards
-They want to get it to the end of the field where they get some points
-if they fail on their 4 tries, or they score, the other team gets a chance
-the game continues
Q: Enough about the rules. Do you like football?
A: A little bit.
A: But let's not talk about my preferences
Q: It is soooo unfair to have two answers to one question
A: That's not even a question
Q: What?
A: What?
Q: How can we get ideas for more Q&A topics?
A: Are you done with football?
Q: Yes.
A: Let's ask our readers for ideas!
Q: Readers: please comment, call, text, or facebook me with Q&A ideas :)
A: That is so not a question
Q: Sorry.

King Tut's death
A mystery has remained as to how King Tut died. Was he murdered? If so, why? Was his death a natural cause? Was it a fatal accident?
King Tut could have been murdered out of greed or because of an unstable environment created in Egypt by his father, Akhenaten. Akhenaten believed in only one god, unlike the belief in many gods before his time. He made everyone else believe this also, and historians believe that this created an unstable environment.
One theory of Tut's death is that his advisor, Ay, murdered him to inherit the throne. A crack was discovered on the back of Tut's skull which could be how he was murdered. Evidence that Ay murdered him is that the queen, Ankhesenamun, was later married to Ay, even though on some tablets that she sent to the Hittites she said “Never shall I pick out a servant of mine and make him my husband. I am afraid!”. She could have been talking about Ay. She asked the Hittites to send a man to wed her and the man that was sent was assassinated on the way. Ay could also be to blame for this.
Another theory is that Horemheb, the king's deputy, murdered him. As Tut got older, he became more independent of Horemheb in his decision making. Horemheb did not inherit the throne after Tut died, Ay did, but Horemheb inherited the throne after Ay died. Horemheb restored Egypt to its original beliefs of many gods rather than just one. Some people discharge this theory because Tut may have been working on restoring Egypt to its original beliefs, just like Horemheb wanted to do.
A reason that people believe Tut may have been murdered is the crack in his skull. Some people point out that it could have been made in the mummification process, if his skull had accidentally been dropped.
With new scans it has been revealed that Tut had a broken leg before he died. Whatever caused this injury could have also caused his death. His death may have just been an accident. The injury on his leg could have also caused infection, which may have been fatal.
Some people look at his broken leg and think that he may have fallen from his chariot to his death. This would explain the broken leg and his death at such a young age.
As they put it on www.kingtutone.com, "With... centuries of forgotten facts, one thing is certain—there will continue to be many theories as to how King Tut died." Though we may never know for sure, examining his death and his body help us to learn more about our history.

Taken for granted
What if you lost everything today? Literally everything - your house, your car, your family, your bedroom, everything. You would realize how much you take these things for granted. Would you think it was unfair that you had lost everything? Would you think that you deserved all of those things?
In the Bible it says; "For the wages of sin is death." Do you know what wages are? Wages are what you are given because you did something. When we work, we get paid. That money is our wages; it is what we get because we did the work.
The wages for sin is death. Because we sin, we get death. That is what we deserve. But if you keep reading that Bible verse it says, "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is Eternal Life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Do you know what a gift is? A gift is also something that we are given, but unlike wages, we don't have to do anything to get a gift. it is given to us for free.
Even though we get death because we sin, God gives us Eternal Life as a gift. We don't deserve it. He just gives it to us.
God gives us everything we have. He made us. He gave us life. A lot of us take life for granted. We think that we deserve it. We go to bed expecting to wake up the next morning. But really, we don't deserve life, we deserve death because we sin. Every day is not a given right. When we wake up every morning, we should thank God that He is letting us live another day. Instead of waking up and thinking "I deserved to wake up and live today" we need to think "Wow God. Thanks so much for letting me live another day."
It's so easy to take everything for granted. We think we deserve to eat every day. We think we deserve a bed, a bedroom, and a house. But we really only deserve death.
Next time you hear someone say something mean to you, instead of thinking "I deserve to be treated better" think "I'm so glad I have ears that can hear." Next time someone cuts in front of you in traffic, instead of thinking "I deserve to be treated better when I'm driving" think "I'm so glad I have a car that can take me places." Next time your mom or dad makes a meal that you don't like, instead of thinking "I deserve to be able to eat food that I like," think "I'm so thankful that I have food that will nourish my body, and I'm so glad that I don't have to go hungry." When your mom or dad says no when you ask for some dessert, instead of thinking "I deserve dessert," think "I'm so happy my mom and dad are concerned with keeping me healthy."
If you don't take anything for granted, and you realize that we don't deserve anything that we have, it makes life look a lot different. You don't wish that you had the next best video game, you can be glad that you have any. You won't wish that you didn't have as much schoolwork, you can be thankful that there are people who care enough to give you a good education.
When we think of things that we are thankful for, usually things like my house and my family come to mind. What if we thought of more things than just those? How about the ability to see, hear, smell, touch, and taste? How about the fact that you can breathe? How about the fact that you can walk? How about the fact that your family has money to feed you?
It makes life look a lot different if we remember to thank God for EVERYTHING.
